Meet Ignace Daga: Sales Manager for South Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Italy

In our ongoing series of getting to know the faces behind CE+T Power, today we sit down with Ignace Daga, our Sales Manager handling territories spanning from South Belgium and Luxembourg to France and Italy. Ignace provides us with insights into his educational background, career trajectory, and personal interests in this exclusive interview.

Could you tell us a bit about your academic background?

I have a chemical background, actually. I have a master in mineral chemistry, so I’ve been studying all about metals and everything that’s related to water treatments.

How did you transition into the industry of power generation and sales?

After holding various positions, I secured a job as an export manager at a company specialized in steel wire ropes used in cranes and boats. This role allowed me to travel extensively. I later became the Sales Director of this company.

After that, I joined a company active in power generation as a sales guy for diesel power generators, a company where I stayed for 15 years. I held the position of BU Manager of the power generation department before I decided to come to CE+T

What drew you to the field of energy, and how has your experience shaped your understanding of the industry’s challenges?

I’ve been immersed in the world of energy for the past 15 to 17 years, dealing with power shortages and critical loads. This experience has given me insights into the challenges of energy transition. Transitioning from diesel power generation to new energy solutions has been a fascinating journey, and I’m excited to contribute to it.

Can you tell us about your experience working at CE+T Power?

Joining CE+T Power has been a challenging transition, especially moving from diesel power generation to power electronics. However, despite the technical complexities, I’ve found a supportive and familial atmosphere here. The camaraderie and sense of belonging make CE+T Power stand out from my previous experiences.

What do you find most exciting about being a sales manager?

The most exciting aspect of being a sales manager is the opportunity to engage with people from different cultures. I’ve always had a passion for France and Italy, both professionally and personally. Building relationships with customers in these territories is rewarding, and the proximity allows for easier communication and frequent in-person meetings with customers, fostering stronger connections and better understanding of their needs.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I have a lot of hobbies, but tennis is my main passion. I’ve been playing since I was young and still play regularly. I also enjoy hiking with my dogs, traveling, and spending time by the sea. Growing up in Sardinia, I developed a deep connection to the mediterranean sea, and activities like fishing and diving are integral to my leisure time. Music is another passion of mine, rounding out my diverse interests.
