Illuminating Safety: CE+T Power and ETAG's Impact on Emergency Lighting in the GCC Region

Case study • 12.10 2026

In the rapidly evolving landscape of the GCC region, ensuring occupant safety during emergencies is non-negotiable. From skyscrapers in Dubai to major transport hubs and airports in Qatar, reliable emergency lighting plays a critical role in life safety and compliance. For over a decade, CE+T Power and ETAG have partnered to deliver state-of-the-art, robust, scalable and intelligent emergency lighting power solutions tailored to the demanding requirements of the Middle East.

Innovative Solutions: Power and Reliability Combined

ETAG addressed the region’s complex project requirements by deploying an architecture that integrates dedicated central battery systems with emergency luminaires, interconnected through a centralized AC power and monitoring backbone. This design minimizes cabling complexity while ensuring high system availability and ease of maintenance.

At the core of this solution are CE+T Power’s Sierra 110Vdc power modules, combined with Inview advanced monitoring, enabling real-time visibility, remote diagnostics, and centralized control across multiple systems and sites.

This approach delivers:

  • Simplified installation and commissioning
  • High redundancy and modular scalability
  • Rapid fault isolation without system-wide shutdowns
  • Continuous availability of emergency lighting when it matters most

        Key Components Provided by CE+T:

        • Sierra 110Vdc System: Modular rectifier and inverter concepts built into a single common module designed to charge batteries and supply critical emergency lighting loads. All systems are supervised through the Inview X monitoring platform, providing centralized system intelligence and operational transparency.
        • Market specific Customization: The modules are customized in blue to meet specific market and branding requirements of emergency lighting.
        • Certified and compliant technology: The solution is certified by DEKRA and complies with EN50171:2021 and IEC 62477-1 standards, making it the first Emergency lighting power solution in the Middle East to achieve this level of certification.

Transforming the GCC: Success Stories Across the Region

CE+T Power and ETAG solutions are deployed across a wide range of prestigious projects throughout the GCC demonstrating flexibility , versatility and reliability across sectors such as transport, sports, commercial developments, and large-scale urban infrastructure among others.

        Highlighting Key Projects:

        1. Hamad International Airport Expansion – Concourse D & E : This project involved the delivery of 33 ECBS systems ensuring reliable and compliant emergency lighting across critical airside and terminal areas of one of the region’s busiest international airports.
        2. Qatar University Sports & Events Complex : Our systems ensured reliable emergency lighting to support this high-capacity sports and events facility, providing enhanced safety and peace of mind for athletes and spectators alike.
        3. Msheireb Downtown Doha : Spanning multiple project phases, over 57 systems ranging from 30 kVA to 120 kVA were installed to provide seamless and reliable emergency lighting across this landmark and vibrant urban development, enhancing safety and reliability in one of Doha’s most prestigious areas.
        4. Doha Metro and Lusail Tram: CE+T Power and ETAG are integral to major transit infrastructure i.e Doha Metro network which includes the Redline North stations, Greenline Stabling Yard, LRT stations, Pearl Station, Foxhill Station among others. In total, over 97 systems have been deployed to ensure continuous emergency lighting and passenger safety across these critical transport hubs.

Economical and Efficient: Optimized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

While CE+T Power and ETAG solutions represent a premium initial investment, they deliver significant long-term savings. Traditional monoblock emergency lighting systems often suffer from higher maintenance effort, longer downtimes and full-system shutdowns during servicing.

In contrast, our modular architecture allows:

        • Hot-swappable maintenance
        • Very high Mean time between failures (MTBF)
        • Reduced Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
        • No complete system outages during servicing

When combined with Inview Mesh smart remote monitoring, operators gain centralized control of multiple sites, proactive fault detection, and reduced operational overheads resulting in lower overall costs and a clearly optimized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

A Bright Future: Continuous shared Commitment to Safety and Innovation.

The long standing collaboration between CE+T Power and ETAG is not just a technical achievement but a testament to their joint commitment to innovation, reliability and safety. Their combined impact on emergency lighting across the GCC stands as a benchmark for modern, intelligent and resilient power solutions.

As the region continues to develop and modernize, CE+T Power and ETAG remain commited to ensuring that safety systems perform flawlessly when they are needed most.
