Meet Jonathan Demortier: Sales Manager for Eastern Europe

Team • 15.09 2025

As part of our ongoing series introducing the people behind CE+T Power, we are excited to feature our newest Sales team member: Jonathan Demortier, Sales Manager for Eastern Europe.  In this interview, Jonathan shares his educational background, professional journey, and personal interests.

Could you share with us your educational background?

“I studied at Gramme in Liège as an industrial engineer with a versatile background. I see myself as true Swiss Army knife type of profile. I did not choose a specialization but stayed within the industrial field. I completed my studies with an Erasmus exchange in Ostrava, Czech Republic, during my final Master’s year.”

Where did you start working, and how did your career progress from there?

“Right after graduating from Gramme, I was recruited by Serel as a Customer Support Manager. My role was highly technical and involved close contact with clients: commissioning, assistance, after-sales support, attending trade shows, and working with agents to ensure everything was running smoothly. After leaving Serel, I joined Carat Duchatelet as Head of the Design Office, working on luxury vehicles. Since I have always been passionate about the automotive world, it was a natural opportunity for me. But here I am, now!”

What led you to CE+T?

“The move happened quite naturally as Sebastien [Michel, our Chief Sales Officer] and I already knew each other. In my previous role, I missed the customer and supplier relationships. Given my background at Serel, it was obvious this would be a good fit. CE+T has an excellent reputation and work environment, so it made perfect sense.”

What are your expectations for your role at CE+T?

“Obviously, I look forward to receiving in-depth training on products, markets, and customers. My schedule is already busy and will only grow fuller, which is a great sign. Most of all, I’m excited to be part of a strong team dynamic and to build solid relationships with colleagues. I will be working closely with Philippe Grandfils in the coming months [current Key Account Manager for Eastern Europe] whom I am sure will share a ton of knowledge. The cherry on top is we will be working on Eastern Europe, which feels like a natural choice for me since I really love the region.”

What drives you about being a sales manager?

“Challenges. Then the satisfaction of overcoming them. Teamwork also motivates me, because in Sales you are never truly alone: you support others, or they support you. I enjoy being creative, looking for new markets and applications, stepping off the beaten path. Meeting new people, whether clients or suppliers, is another huge source of energy for me.”

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

“Music is one of my passions. I play the piano and drums, mostly self-taught, and I also work as a DJ. I co-founded and presided over a non-profit in the event industry, which I ran for two years. I have also built a small production studio at home. It is not meant to be professional, but a fun creative outlet. On top of that, I love traveling, always. My top three destinations so far are Iceland, Canada, and Japan, with more to come!”

Do you have a motto you live by?

“There are no problems, only solutions.”

Don't miss the opportunity to explore how we can support your business.
